Northwest China's Shaanxi province is eyeing talents from overseas, establishing an Overseas Chinese College on Dec 19 by Xi'an's Northwest University and Shaanxi Confederation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
Part of the strategic cooperation between the two sides, the college will help expand the talent pool from overseas and promote Shaanxi's social and economic development.
Hosted by Jia Mingde, vice- president of Northwest University, over 70 officials from the confederations of returned overseas Chinese of all levels in Shaanxi province took part in the ceremony.
Agreements were signed to build cooperative partnerships and establish the Overseas Chinese College. Guo Lihong, headmaster of Northwest University and Cheng Miangui, Party secretary of Shaanxi Confederation of Returned Overseas Chinese unveiled the nameplate of the new college.
Guo briefed the participants about the development and achievements of the university in his speech, saying that both sides will join hands in introducing overseas talents and students, carrying out scientific research and study projects regarding overseas Chinese.
