The forum, held on a Saturday in Xi’an, aimed to embody the essence of the National Education Conference by delving into the historical roots, educational philosophy, and ideas of Northwest Associated University. It sought to galvanize a robust spiritual force to propel the "Double First Class" initiative and fortify educational excellence.
Over 110 education officials, experts, and scholars nationwide graced the event, with Cao Rong, vice president of Northwest University, overseeing the opening ceremony.
Originally known as National Northwest United University, Northwest Associated University served as a pivotal institution during the Chinese War of Resistance Against Japan. Evolving from its precursor, National Xi'an Temporary University, it underwent two reorganizations, culminating in the establishment of National Northwestern University, the precursor to today's Northwest University.
Since 1912, Northwest University has undergone transformations, emerging as a comprehensive institution under the Ministry of Education, pivotal in advancing scientific research and nurturing talent. The legacy of Northwestern United University lives on through the strides made by Northwest University.
During the inauguration, President Sun Qingwei highlighted the university's role in infusing scientific advancements into the region, bridging world modern culture with traditional Chinese heritage. He underscored the institution's commitment to upholding the legacy of Northwest Associated University and driving progress through the "Double First Class" initiative.
Sun emphasized the importance of reflecting on the achievements and heritage of Northwest Associated University, drawing lessons from history, and forging a path towards a promising future. He pledged to enhance collaborations with sister universities, exploring innovative avenues for high-quality educational development in the contemporary era.
The forum showcased outstanding research papers from various universities and experts within the Northwest Associated University Alliance, recognizing 15 first prize papers and 25 second prize papers.
Distinguished papers were acknowledged during the event, alongside expert visits to the National Xi'an Temporary University--National Northwest United University Special Exhibition.

The expert report segment featured 21 scholars who delved into history, cultural exchanges, and spiritual insights, including Liu Xianghui, Yao Yuan, Chen Chen, and Yu Zixia.
Since its inception in 2012, the "Northwest Associated University and China Higher Education Development Forum" has paved the way for member universities to uphold the institution's ethos, foster educational reform, and achieve notable progress.
As an integral part of the Secretariat of the Northwest Associated University Alliance, Northwest University has undertaken key projects and initiatives, contributing to the preservation of historical landmarks and cultural landscapes on its campus.
Guided by the Chinese Society of Higher Education and Guangming Daily, the forum was co-hosted by 15 esteemed institutions, uniting efforts to advance higher education and commemorate the legacy of Northwest Associated University.
